Congratulations to Zohaib for his recent publication in the Journal of the Electrochemical Society on the pore-network modeling of Li-ion batteries. This collaborative effort used 3-phase tomograms obtained by our good colleagues at University College London, and leveraged the direct numerical simulation tools of Dr. Garcia-Salaberri. The end result is the first-ever paper applying a pore network model to a Li-ion battery material. This opens the door to many future publications where we can include transient phenomena to study the charge-discharge behavior of different electrode architectures.
